So, for those of you not in the know...  I [was] 30 something years old, an ex-salesperson, ex-project manager, and motorcycle fanatic.  I have been obsessed by motorcycles for years, ever since I got my first job out of college and bought my first bike.

My bikes have included: 1993 Kawasaki KLX650R, 1995 BMW R1100RS, 2000 Aprilia RSV Mille, 1997 Kawasaki KX250, 1995 Suzuki DR350, 1997 Honda CR250R, 2004 Honda 599 'Hornet', 2001 Honda XR650R and a 2006 KTM 525XC.  I still own the 1993 BMW R100GS I travel on.

For years I wanted to do this trip..  traveling through Central and South America by myself on a motorcycle.  For years I prepped the GS to be the bike for this.  But for many years, the opportunity did not present itself.  Finally, in summer of 2002 I was laid off..  and soon after, my roommate said he wanted to move out to move in with his girlfriend.

So, it was the time.  I started preparations, sold a bunch of stuff; two bikes, including my beloved Aprilia, two computers, camping gear, furniture, and a variety of other things.  I put my remaining stuff in storage, prepped the bike, and took off.

I spent a total of a year..  In my first six months I traveled in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Chile and Bolivia, but then started to run out of money.  So I left my bike in Bolivia, returned home, and worked 70 plus hours a week at two different jobs to save money for my next leg..  I returned to South America on November 2, 2003 and continued my trip for another six months through Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.

This website was an ongoing review of my trip, which I updated throughout the journey.  I tried to update this as much as possible, which was sometimes once a day, sometimes once a week or less.

I hope you enjoy this, checking out the pictures, videos, and everything else I posted.  I certainly enjoyed the trip myself.  Feel free to contact me if'n you want...
